Day 1, Thoughts from the Farmhouse Kitchen Table

A quick intro into the who, what and why!

Good Morning and welcome to my brand new newsletter. Each edition I will be bringing to the (kitchen) table, my thoughts and experiences on a wide range of topics such as farming, personal life, business, well being and other bits and bobs.

Why this and why now? Well, I am in the process of launching my new business, Green Acres, and a key component of this will be connecting with people to help and support them in various areas of their business and personal lives. This platform will enable me to share some thoughts and ideas that I hope will inspire, challenge and ultimately, help people in some small (or big?!) way!

The name…Thoughts from the Farmhouse Kitchen Table….I absolutely love how so many farmhouse kitchens are open, safe places to chat, somewhere to come together, to laugh and to cry. The door is always open kind of environment. And this is the environment I want to promote and work in. But lets not limit this to grand old farm houses…my parents house is far from this, yet is always welcoming and the kitchen has always been the heart of the house!

My good friend Richard has the most amazing farmhouse kitchen - nothing fancy, but its always time well spent sitting in there, drinking tea, eating biscuits and just chatting away with him and his lovely family.

So, who am I?

Well, right now I am a strategic Farm Manager. I am a new business owner. I am a husband, I am Dad to a little girl (who is our everything). I am a spaniel owner. I am a normal guy who likes to get out walking as much as possible and enjoy lots of other hobbies outside of working.

Previously I was a farm business owner where I had a Farm Business Tenancy on a small arable farm and I was also a farm manager on a large and complex multi cropping business.

What to expect from me and this newsletter…

I will endeavor to bring positive, thought provoking and useful content that I believe will appeal to a very broad audience. Yes, there will be farming content - its my bread and butter after all, but this wont be just another farming newsletter. I will look into the bigger picture of whats going on with me and the environment I live and work in.

I would absolutely love to take you along with me on this journey I now find myself at the start of.

So, pull up a chair, grab a brew and lets chat together 🙂
